Two children hospitalized after collision in Minto

Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) closed a section of Highway 89 in Minto Township after a collision left five people injured, including two children.

Police say around 10:40 a.m. on Saturday morning, emergency crews responded to a serious three-vehicle crash west of Mount Forest involving a minivan, an SUV, and a sedan.

Three adults were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries, while two children were sent to trauma centres with life-threatening injuries.

Wellington County OPP are investigating the collision along with the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team.

Highway 89 remained closed from Wellington Road 2 to Pike Lake Road for several hours following the incident.
