Freezing rain warning for parts of midwestern Ontario

Icy conditions are in the forecast for parts of midwestern Ontario on Tuesday.

Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning early Monday evening for areas in Grey County, such as Hanover, Dundalk, Owen Sound, and Blue Mountains, along with parts of northern Wellington County, including Mount Forest and Arthur.

"Freezing rain will move through the area Tuesday morning," a statement from the weather agency read. "Temperatures are expected to slowly rise above the freezing mark by late Tuesday morning ending the threat of freezing rain."

Motorists are advised to take extra caution while driving through areas that may receive freezing rain on Tuesday.

Ice build-up on surfaces such as roads and sidewalks is possible, which may become hazardous for drivers and pedestrians.
