Snowmobile crash kills Hanover resident

One person is dead after a snowmobile crash late Saturday night.

Just before 11:30 p.m. February 4, South Bruce OPP responded to the incident near Sideroad 10 South between the 6th and 8th Concessions in Brockton.

First responders attempted life saving measures on the snowmobile operator before he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The initial investigation has determined the deceased was operating a snowmobile on an OFSC trail when he left the trail and collided with a tree.

The deceased is a 28-year-old resident of Hanover. Police have not yet released his identity.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
