Man convicted of manslaughter in overdose death

A Harriston man charged with manslaughter in connection to an overdose death has been convicted.

Tyler James Geiger was charged in September of 2019 after a man died of an opioid overdose in Neustadt in April of 2019.

In addition to manslaughter, Geiger was also charged with trafficking an opioid. He was convicted in the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice Monday.

Geiger will be back in court April 21, 2023 for sentencing.

He remains in custody on unrelated charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
