Man arrested following store robbery

One person has been arrested and charged following a robbery in Owen Sound.

On February 8 just after 1:30 p.m., a business in Owen Sound was allegedly robbed by one man. The accused had a disguise over his face, and he entered the business, went right behind the counter and confronted two employees, allegedly brandishing a knife at them. The man then was alleged to have threatened the employees before stealing merchandise and leaving the store. Owen Sound Police Service officers began a foot patrol in the downtown area and located the man as he ran through a parking lot near 10th Street East.

Police managed to arrest the accused and recover the stolen property, and found the knife that was allegedly used to threaten the employees, as well. The 48-year-old man of no fixed address is being held in police custody pending a bail hearing on February 9, and is facing numerous charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
