Grey Bruce Public Health, OPSEU Local 276 Pro-Tech ratify new contract

The Grey-Bruce Board of Health has ratified a new two year contract with Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) Local 276-Pro-Tech.

The bargaining unit represents 63 Grey Bruce Public Health employees. They work as Public Health Inspectors, Dental Hygienists, Registered Practical Nurses, Dietitians, Tobacco Enforcement and Education Officers, Health Promoters, Maintenance Custodians, Parent Support Workers, and others at Grey Bruce Public Health.

The new deal is retroactive to July 1, 2022, The contract offers general wage increases, a signing bonus, and adjustments to contract language.

The union members ratified the tentative collective agreement on February 3, 2023. The Board of Health ratified the agreement at its most recent meeting on January 31, 2023.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
