Canadian Blood Services to host another local blood drive

Canadian Blood Services is hosting another local blood drive event in Midwestern Ontario.

The blood donation organization will be collecting blood and plasma donations on March 1 in Owen Sound at the legion from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. O-negative blood donors are especially needed because this blood type can be transfused to any patient. In times of emergency or for newborn patients, O-negative blood, the universal blood type, makes a lifesaving difference.

Donations will be by appointment only. Visit blood.ca, use the GiveBlood app, or call 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283) to find and book an appointment at a donor centre near you.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
