Charges laid following assault

A recent assault that sent one victim to a local hospital has resulted in charges.

Perth County OPP responded to a disturbance that took place at a Perth Line 86 address in the Municipality of North Perth on February 19.

After officers arrived, it was determined that one person allegedly assaulted the other. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, a 45-year-old from North Perth was arrested and charged with assault cause bodily harm - choke, suffocate or strangle and fail to comply with probation order.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
