Investigation into disturbance leads to multiple assault charges

A police investigation into a local disturbance call has resulted in multiple assault charges.

Perth County OPP were called on February 18 just after 4:30 p.m. to an address on Wellington Street in the Municipality of West Perth for a reported disturbance. Police arrived on-scene and determined that one person had shown up and allegedly assaulted multiple victims at the address. One victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have charged a 62-year-old from Stratford with three counts of assault, one charge of assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
