Charges laid following break-in at residential landfill

Police have arrested and charged one person following a break-in at a residential landfill.

On March 23 just after 6 a.m., Perth County OPP officers responded to an address on Road 166 in North Perth for a report of a break-in. Police were told an unknown suspect broke in and stole several items from the landfill.

Following an investigation, police arrested and charged a 53-year-old Atwood resident with numerous offences including break-and-enter and theft under $5,000.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
