Centre Wellington teen faces assault, sexual assault charges

Wellington County OPP have charged a teenager with sexual assault of a minor and assault with a weapon, stemming from a family dispute.

Police responded to a call in Centre Wellington on March 31 around 7:30 p.m.

There was a disturbance in a residence and an edged weapon was allegedly brandished by the accused.

An 18-year-old from Centre Wellington now faces charges for sexual assault on a person under 16, assault and two counts of assault with a weapon.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph court next month.
