Police make arrest following abandoned vehicle found with stolen signs

An abandoned pickup truck full of stolen road signs found by police has resulted in an arrest.

Huron County OPP responded to an abandoned pickup truck on March 5 that was found in the ditch along Alice Street in Wingham. The truck was found with 10 stolen road signs from around Huron County as well as a stolen drive-thru sign from the Wingham McDonald's. Police were able to determine through the investigation that the owner of the pickup was operating it just before it was abandoned.

As a result, police arrested and charged a 20-year-old Morris-Turnberry resident with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 29 at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.
