Southampton man charged with trailer theft

Saugeen Shores Police Service say they recovered a stolen trailer after stopping a suspended driver.

On Monday afternoon, officers stopped a 30-year-old Southampton man known to them as being a suspended driver.

Police say they observed he was towing a trailer with no licence plate, which appeared to be a U-Haul spray-painted black. After investigation, it was determined that the trailer had been reported as stolen.

The man was arrested and faces multiple charges as a result. He was released with a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
