Owen Sound transit introduces a new and improved fleet

Owen Sound Transit has a brand new fleet of more accessible and technologically advanced vehicles.

Drivers have completed their training on the updated management system. Some of the new features include low-floor ramp accessibility at each front entrance, and stop request buttons.

Travel planning is easier now that the buses have banners overhead showing the route maps at the front and side of each bus. As well, riders will also be able to hear stop announcements on interior and exterior speakers.

GPS and ridership tracking upgrades have been installed to better track transit usage and location in real-time. The new buses can accommodate more passengers than before and have bike racks available.

The City’s transit system runs from  6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, along with Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
