Kincardine Family Health Team hires second nurse practitioner

The Kincardine Family Health team has brought on another nurse practitioner this month.

The municipality announced the hiring Monday, saying April Nicholls will join the team this May and help operate the Same-Day Appointment Clinic.

According to statement from the municipality, Nicholls has a strong background in primary care and comes from a similar role with a Family Health Team offering a same-day access clinic.

Kincardine council approved funding 60% of the role in this year's budget, to help address the healthcare needs of the community.

"Both the Kincardine Family Health Team and the Municipality of Kincardine extend a warm welcome to Nicholls as she joins a group of allied healthcare professionals providing our community with the highest level of primary health care services possible," read a statement from the municipality.
