Two charged after $135K in stolen property seized

The Grey Bruce OPP and Owen Sound Police say they've recovered over $135,000 worth of stolen property.

Police began investigating a string of property crimes that spanned across several counties and areas of jurisdiction in early April.

As a result of the investigation, the Grey Bruce OPP charged a 28-year-old from Thornbury and a 51-year-old from Blue Mountain. The two face numerous charges including several counts of theft, several counts of theft of a motor vehicle, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Both have been held pending a bail hearing in Owen Sound.

Police also recovered approximately $135,550 worth of suspected stolen property.

OPP say members from the Community Street Crime Unit will be contacting owners of the stolen goods. They ask that you don't call to inquire if any items belong to you.
