Charge laid following threat to student

The Huron County OPP have laid a charge following a threat made towards a local student.

Police were called just before 9:30 a.m. on May 4 after receiving a report that a student in Clinton had been threatened the previous evening. The elementary aged student told school staff and officers that an older male had threatened to come to the school, and harm the student and their friends.

Officers immediately met with school staff to ensure the safety of the students who the threat was made towards. As a result, a 19-year-old from Central Huron was located, arrested and charged with Criminal Harassment, Threatening Conduct.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing on May 5.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
