Huron Perth Catholic students earn gold at skills competition

Several Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board students earned gold medals from the Skills Ontario Competition this week.

Grade 7/8 students from St. Mary’s School in Listowel and a Grade 10 student from St. Michaels in Stratford took top place at the competition May 1 to 2, 2023, in Toronto.

The student team from St. Mary’s School designed and built a monorail for the LEGO Mechanical Engineering category.

St. Michael's student, Anne D., won the gold medal standing in aesthetics category for the second year in a row.

The Skills Ontario Competition is an annual event that promotes skilled trades and technology careers to students across the province.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
