North Huron Aquatic Centre closes unexpectedly for repairs

The pool at the North Huron Wecast Community Complex will be closed until further notice for "unscheduled maintenance," according to the North Huron Recreation Department.

On Friday, May 5, lifted tiles were discovered on multiple areas on the pool floor, according to the town Aquatic Director Nancy Hall-Jupp. The company who installed the tile floor was on-site Friday to repair the effected areas.

Hall-Jupp says tile grout takes about four days to cure and then it takes about five days to refill the pool and get it up to the standard temperature.

The closure is expected to last two or three weeks.

"An update will be provided closer to that time," the recreation department's statement said. "Please check our social media, website, radio, and phone messages for updates."

North Huron Recreation Department apologized for the service disruption.
