Firefighters begin local Home Visitation and Assistance program

Owen Sound Fire and Emergency Services have begun their annual Home Visitation and Assistance program for this year.

Every year, firefighters focus on a section of the city and come around to give inspections of life safety devices like carbon monoxide and smoke alarms, and they allow homeowners the opportunity to ask questions of the firefighters. This year, the northwest portion of Owen Sound is being focused on.

Firefighters will be visiting homes in the area north of 10th Street West and west of the Owen Sound Harbour. Look for fire crews in that area over the next few months.

If a resident does not live in the area being canvassed but would like an inspection by the department to discuss their home fire safety and life safety, please contact the fire department at 519-376-2512 to schedule an inspection.

For more information, please contact Fire Prevention Officer Greg Nicol at 519-376-2512 extension 2243 or email gnicol@owensound.ca.
