Arran-Elderslie council preps for long chat on proposed cannabis facility

A controversial cannabis facility in the Village of Tara is seeking zoning approval from Arran-Elderslie council at Tuesday's meeting.

A number of nearby residents to the proposed small-batch, craft cannabis operation have submitted comments opposing the project, arguing everything from water usage to potentially decreasing property value.

However, Bruce County planning staff have recommended that the rezoning to allow a "micro-cultivation facility" be approved.

The discussion is expected to be a long one, as there are five delegations on the agenda related to the facility.

The council meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. in Chesley with delegations presenting around 6 p.m.
