Search warrant results in arrest

The South Bruce OPP made an arrest following the recent execution of a search warrant.

Alongside the OPP Community Street Crimes Unit, the South Bruce OPP executed a search warrant along Huron Street in Ripley on May 23. Officers seized a quantity of offence related property, including several Gallagher products and a .22 caliber Savage rifle.  The estimated value of the seized property is $2,931. Police also seized a quantity of methamphetamine.

As a result, a 26-year-old from Huron-Kinloss was arrested and now faces charges including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of firearm of ammunition contrary to prohibition order - two counts
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Trafficking in Stolen Goods under $5,000
  • Failure to comply with Probation Order
The accused was held for a bail hearing on May 24.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
