UPDATE: Fatal collision closes highway

Another serious crash in Midwestern Ontario has closed another highway and unfortunately resulted in a fatality.

Police and local EMS are on-scene at what police are calling a "serious collision" on Highway 9 near Walkerton. Police have confirmed that Highway 9 remains closed in both directions, at Concession Road 14 E and Concession Road 10 due to the crash. When officers arrived, with members of the South Bruce Fire Rescue Service and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services, they found two vehicles involved.

Police have confirmed that one of the drivers was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other driver suffered no injuries.

There are no other details available at this time. Drivers should avoid the area for the time being. The collision is being investigated by the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team and the Coroner's Office.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
