Southampton man becomes $100,000 richer

A Southampton man has become $100,000 richer after hitting it big, matching seven Encore numbers on his Lotto Max ticket.

James Greenaway said he's been a longtime lottery player, playing whatever catches his eye.

"My wife and I were in shock," he said. "We danced when the winning music came on!"

The 56-year old hasn't made any big plans yet on how to use his winnings. But, he said he will manage finances and buy new Muskoka chairs for him and his wife.

"There were winners in this community, and I knew it was possible, but I never thought I'd win this big of a prize," Greenaway said. "You can't describe it. It's surreal.

The ticket was bought from Vanderwerf's Your Independent Grocer on Goderich Street in Port Elgin.
