Fergus woman wins $100,000

A retired Fergus woman recently won $100,000 through Lotto Max.

Catherine Sweeney matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the April 7 draw to claim the prize.

She said the win was especially sweet as she was able to share it with family.

"I usually check tickets on the OLG App but this time I checked while at the gas station. I was jumping up and down when I realized I won big," she said while at the prize centre in Toronto. "It's unreal. My daughter was there to experience the win with me."

Sweeney says the money will help with an already planned family trip.

The winning ticket was purchased at Giant Tiger on Tower Street in Fergus.
