Hanover man faces charges for threats with a firearm

Hanover Police Services have charged a local 55-year-old man after he allegedly threatened a neighbour with a gun.

Police responded to a dispute call late on Friday. According to Chief Christopher Knoll, the man was pointing a firearm at his neighbour and others while threatening them with death.

With assistance from West Grey Police Service and the OPP, the man was arrested at the scene. He now faces several charges including careless use of a firearm and three counts of uttering threats.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
