More temporary closures of emergency departments in Midwestern Ontario

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance has announced temporary closures for two more local emergency departments.

On Saturday, June 3, the Seaforth Community Hospital ED will close at 5 a.m. and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 4. At that time, regular 24/7 service will resume.

Additionally, the Clinton Public Hospital will close its ED all day on Sunday, June 4. It will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday June 5, when regular reduced hours of operation, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., will resume.

Also, the Clinton Public Hospital Emergency Department will be experiencing temporary extended hours on Saturday, June 3. The department will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to assist with an expected increase in volumes due to events at the Walton Raceway.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
