Huron County awards $100,000 for SLED projects

Huron County recently awarded $100,000 in funding through their Supporting Local Economic Development (SLED) program.

The county says a significant response to this year's SLED program resulted in them awarding various grants to 16 different community organizations with projects that will have a measurable economic impact.

The 16 groups that received funding are: the Seaforth BIA, the Bayfield Lions Club, Cultural Collective SH, Eat Local Huron, Exeter and District Heritage Fund, Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health, the Goderich Celtic Festival, Goderich Little Theatre, Goderich Tourism, Huron County Food Distribution Centre, the Municipality of Huron East, Huron Waves, Kingsbridge, the Municipality of North Huron, Pioneer Park 1, and the Zurich Bean Festival.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
