Town's aquatic centre to open early

The Arthur and Area Aquatic Centre is opening early this year.

The Township of Wellington North says the Arthur pool is opening on Monday, a month early this year to help "attract, train, and prepare new staff as well as opening to schools, lessons, family swims, and public swims," according to a release from the township.

With a shortage of lifeguards, Wellington North says they are taking a "proactive" approach to hiring for 2023 and 2024, including a reimbursement program for those pursuing lifeguarding/instructing credentials and re-certifying any past staff.

More information on the Arthur pool and programming there can be found on the Wellington North municipal website.
