Residents unharmed after Gorrie house fire

No injuries were reported after a house fire south of Gorrie on the night of June 3.

The Howick Township Fire Department responded to a call on Gorrie Line around 8:45 p.m. Assistance was provided by the Wingham and Grey Township fire stations.

All residents made it out of the building safely.

Approximately 25 firefighters were on scene to knock out the blaze, but not before the house sustained heavy damage. While the main structure is still standing, it will be up to the homeowner's insurance company as to whether it will need to be demolished.

The investigation into cause of the fire is still ongoing.
