Multi-jurisdictional drug bust seizes over $90,000 in drugs, $220,000 in property

The Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant at a home in Kitchener, where over $90,000 in drugs and $220,000 in property were seized.

The investigation is part of a collaboration with the Wellington, Grey Bruce, Brant County, and Elgin-Middlesex CSCUs, with support from the Waterloo Regional Police Service.

Police said the illicit drugs included fentanyl, meth, and crack cocaine. The seized property included gold and silver bars and stolen guns.

A 39-year-old Kitchener man is now facing 17 charges under the Criminal Code and Controlled Substances Act. Some of those include multiple charges for possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking, nine counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, and careless storage of a firearm.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
