Local emergency department closing due to staffing issues

A local emergency department is closing due to staffing issues.

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance says the Seaforth Community Hospital will close its emergency department at 9 p.m. on June 9. The ED in Seaforth will re-open at 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, at which point regular 24/7 hours of operation will resume.

Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1. Paramedics will remain available to the community and will re-route to the nearest available Emergency Department to ensure local residents continue to have access to the emergency services they need.
