Charges laid after firearms call to school

An investigation by the Grey Bruce OPP into a weapons incident in the Municipality of Grey Highlands resulted in an arrest.

A firearms call involving a local school was made to Grey Bruce OPP on June 13, 2023, at about 12:47 p.m.

A 15-year-old Grey Highlands resident was accused of assault with a weapon, and possession of an imitation weapon for dangerous purpose.

The accused was released and has a later appearance date set at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound. There have been no injuries associated with this incident.

There are no additional safety issues, according to Grey Bruce OPP. Students are encouraged to immediately report similar incidents to school staff and police.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
