Perth South appoints new CAO

Perth South has announced a new CAO for the municipality.

In a statement released by the municipality, it welcomed Fred Tranquilli as Chief Administrative Officer and Deputy Clerk.

Tranquilli comes to Perth South after serving as CAO and Clerk for nearly 5 years in Strathroy-Caradoc. A new CAO was required after acting CAO and Treasurer Rebecca Clothier recommended to council that the two roles be separated.

Clothier will continue to serve as Deputy CAO and acting Treasurer for Perth South. Tranquilli officially begins his new role on July 4.

"Having a CAO with Fred's background and experience is a wonderful step forward for Perth South as we continue to manage pressures related to growth and longer-term planning," said Mayor Jim Aitcheson.

“I am thrilled to be joining Perth South!" said Tranquilli, adding "I look forward to working with the strong staff team and Council as we meet the challenges ahead serving the community.”

“I am excited to be working collaboratively with Fred Tranquilli, leveraging our collective experience and expertise to support the continued growth and success of Perth South,” Clothier added.
