Charges laid in sexual assault investigation

A North Perth resident has been charged after an investigation into a reported sexual assault.

Perth County OPP say they began an investigation on June 15 into a sexual assault that occurred in North Perth. The investigation revealed that the victim was sexually assaulted, but did not sustain any major injuries.

A 65-year-old resident of North Perth has been charged with sexual assault, but has not been identified by police.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on August 8, to answer to the charge.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
