South Bruce Peninsula cancels Canada Day fireworks

South Bruce Peninsula has made the early call to cancel its Canada Day fireworks.

The Town announced on Tuesday that displays in Sauble Beach and Bluewater Park in Wiarton will be rescheduled.

The plan is to hold the fireworks at a later date once both the Municipal Fire Ban and the Provincial Order designating the area as a Restricted Fire Zone have been lifted.

Current orders prohibit open-air burning of any kind, consumer fireworks displays and use of outdoor fire appliances

The Town asks that as the long weekend approaches, residents and visitors continue to adhere to the restrictions that are in place.
