New hotel coming to Kincardine

Kincardine will be welcoming a new hotel development.

A release from the town shares that a proposal to build a new four storey, 90-room Staybridge Suites hotel will be going ahead. The hotel will be located at the intersection of Highway 21 and Kincardine Avenue, in Kincardine.

A site plan agreement was entered into by the owner of the property and the town, and site preparation is underway with construction slated to begin this summer.

The project will be done in 4 phases, with the first 2 phases focussed on the hotel itself, and the final 2 phases will be for retail and quick serve restaurants.

“We’re excited to see this development moving ahead along Highway 21, as it will offer more sleeping accommodations, future retail, and fast-food restaurant choices for our community,” shared Mayor Kenneth Craig. “The Municipality has negotiated agreements to extend municipal services to the site and we continue to advocate to the Ministry of Transportation to move forward with their intended intersection upgrades at Kincardine Avenue and Highway 21. The plan is that new stoplights and turning lanes will be in place when the hotel opens in late 2024.”
