Wellington North Fire says all occupants got out safely after an apartment fire in Mount Forest on Friday night.

Approximately 60 firefighters from several neighbouring fire departments attended and contained the blaze to one wing of the building.

According to WNFS, the cause of the fire was accidental in nature. Though the exact cause is still undetermined, it is not considered suspicious.

Seven out of the apartment’s 10 families were displaced due to damage from the fire, which included a partial roof collapse. Victim Services will continue working with them to find temporary lodging.
