Big lift of Lucknow Standpipe Wednesday

The water tank for the Lucknow Standpipe is almost finished.

The water tank is expected to be lifted on Wednesday, June 28 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. as long as the weather cooperates.

The public is welcome to observe the lifting of the tank into position from a safe distance.

The standpipe in the village was replaced thanks to a total investment of $3.4 million. The federal government provided $1.9 million while the province added $1.5 million.

The money is coming from the Green Stream of Investing in Canada Infrastructure.

The project included rebuilding 225 metres of the watermain, building a new elevated water storage facility, and removing the old standpipe. The result is safe and more accessible water as well as a safe and durable water storage system for Lucknow.
