Weapons charges laid following BB gun incident

Three individuals, including a youth offender, have been charged with weapons offences following a recent incident in Listowel.

On June 22 just before 8 p.m., Perth County OPP officers responded to an Elma Street West address in Listowel after a report of a drive-by shooting involving a BB gun. No injuries were reported.

The vehicle involved was found later by police, and the three individuals inside were arrested without incident.

As a result, a 24-year-old from Niagara Falls, a 19-year-old from North Perth and a 17-year-old from North Perth are all facing numerous charges including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The 17-year-old and 19-year-old were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
