High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Perth County OPP are investigating a recent mischief.On June 27, police received a tip regarding mischief at a local park on Royal Street East in the Municipality of North Perth.Investigation determined that three unidentified males came to the park threw an item in the pool, threw garbage into the riverbank and smeared diapers on the splash pad.  Officers are asking for any information or witnesses who may know something about this crime. If you have any information, please contact Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
