Huron County accepting applications for small business support program

Applications have opened for Huron County’s Starter Company Plus program.

Small businesses will get a chance to receive training, mentorship and an opportunity for grant funding of up to $5,000.

“This program gives individuals and business owners the training and tools to set them up for business success,” said Vicki Lass, Director of Economic Development.

The county says they receive dozens of applications for the program each year, thus a brief interview will be required prior to acceptance. Application forms must be submitted by July 31 at 4 p.m.

Successful candidates will be notified of their acceptance into the program by mid-August, and it’s scheduled to run from September to November.

Those interested in learning more are encouraged to visit the Goderich Library for an information session on Wednesday, July 12 at 6:30 pm.
