Owen Sound hosts outdoor movies

Families and residents can enjoy Outdoor Movie Nights at the Farmers' Market in Owen Sound's River District.

The free family-friendly movies and theme nights will also feature interactive activities before the films start each night.

The first Movie Night takes place this Friday, July 7 featuring Moana. On Friday, July 21, Minions will be on the big screen, followed by Trolls on Friday, August 11. The final movie night will be Friday, August 18 with the film Spiderman Into the Spider-Verse

Each evening has a special feature of either ice cream, beverages, pizza, or treat bags, all supplied by local businesses. Participants should bring their own lawn chair with seating on a first-come, first-served basis. The site opens at 7:30 p.m., with movies starting at dusk.

"Outdoor Movie Nights are presented by Sundays' Ice Cream Parlour, Essential Cleaning Company, Heritage Place Mall, Midwives Grey Bruce, Shannon Deckers-Remax, Tibbs Cash ATM Services, Meg's Drywall, Winmar Property Restoration Specialists, YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce Child Care, Community & Employment and Health Fitness & Aquatics, Coca-Cola Bottling, The Rocking Horse, and Pizza Hut," read a statement from the city.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
