An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged a West Grey man <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://cknxnewstoday.ca/news/2023/03/26/1opp-investigate-death-outside-owen-sound">in connection with a fatal collision in Meaford in March.</a>Emergency services responded to the collision with a pedestrian along Story Book Park Road around 1 a.m. on March 25. Ken Irvine, 44, from Kitchener suffered fatal injuries and the involved vehicle had fled the scene.As a result of the ongoing investigation, police charged 32-year-old Dearl Vessie with failure to stop at an accident resulting in death, dangerous operation causing death and operation while prohibited.Anyone with information on the incident is asked to reach out to Grey Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
