Police charge one person following threats with a weapon

One person has been charged following a recent disturbance in Mount Forest.

On July 10 at 10:30 p.m., Wellington County OPP were called to a disturbance on Queen Street West. It was reported that one person had threatened another with a weapon.

Police located and arrested the accused, a 21-year-old Mount Forest native. They now face charges including two counts of possession of a prohibited device, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon.

The accused was held pending a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
