Fatal crash under investigation

Perth County OPP are investigating a fatal crash in West Perth.

On July 13 just after noon, officers responded alongside Perth County EMS and West Perth Fire Services to a reported crash in the area of Road 164, at Line 36, north of Mitchell, involving three vehicles.

Crews arrived on-scene to find two passenger vehicles and a transport truck were involved. The driver of one of the passenger vehicles, a 76-year-old resident of the Municipality of West Perth, was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased. 

Road 164 will remain closed from Frances Street East to Line 39 for the next several hours for the investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
