Police investigating fatal crash that resulted in death of a pedestrian

The South Bruce OPP continue to investigate a fatal collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian.

On July 12 just after 1 p.m., officers responded alongside Bruce County EMS and the Walkerton Fire Department to a reported crash at the intersection of Jackson Street and Durham Street east in Walkerton.

Emergency services arrived to find a vehicle and pedestrian were involved. The pedestrian was airlifted to a London hospital where they were pronounced deceased. The identity of the victim has not been made public. Police will have more details soon.

The South Bruce OPP is continuing to investigate the collision. If anyone witnessed the crash or has any information, contact South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
