Man charged in connection with Mount Forest fires

Wellington County OPP have charged a 21-year-old man in connection with several fires started in Mount Forest in early June.

On the morning of June 4, emergency services responded to a structure fire on Sligo Road and a vehicle fire that spread to a shed on Cork Street. Both incidents were reported within an hour of each other, and police later received a report of a yard waste bag at a nearby residence that was also lit on fire during that time.

As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old of Mount Forest has been charged with three counts of arson.

The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
