Canadian Blood Services hosting more local donation events

Canadian Blood Services will host more local donation events this summer.

On Tuesday, August 1, a donation event will be held at the Mount Forest and District Sports Recreation Complex from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Following that, Owen Sound will host one at the Owen Sound Legion on Wednesday, August 2 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and again on Wednesday, August 30 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., as well.

Canadian Blood Services says a recent IPSOS survey found that 87 percent of people in Canada recognize there is a constant need for blood and blood products, yet nearly 50 percent say they have not donated because they are waiting to be asked.
