Owen Sound man charged with aggravated assault

A 33-year-old man has been charged following a stabbing in Owen Sound.

At approximately 9 o'clock on Friday morning, police responded to the area of 10th Street East and 3rd Avenue East where a man had reportedly been stabbed.

Officers searched the area and within twenty minutes were able to locate and arrest the suspect. They also located the weapon involved in the incident.

The victim was taken to hospital and underwent surgery for non-life-threatening injuries.

It is believed that the victim and suspect were known to each other.

The suspect has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and carrying a concealed weapon.
